Start with a graphic in 16 million colors. Put in some white text on a white background. I used New Times Roman Bold at 72 points, try others. While the text is still selected goto "SELECTIONS"> "MODIFY" > "FEATHER". Set feather at 10. Make the foreground color red 255 ,green 0, blue 0, the background color red 0 ,green 0, blue 255. "Flood Fill" the selection using "Linear Gradient" with the direction set at 180 degs. You'll find this under "Options". You should see the text, like this: |

Now, change the foreground color to a grey red 128 ,green 128, blue 128, the background color to white. While still selected goto "EDIT"> "CLEAR"??!! You should see the text, like this: |

Goto "IMAGE"> "SPECIAL"> "CUTOUT". "Fill interior with color" should be checked, "Interior color" set to foreground, "Shadow color" set to background, "Opacity" at 255, "Blur" at 0. The offset's should be, horizontal 4, vertical 4. Click "OK", here's what you should have: |

Goto "SELECTIONS">"SELECT NONE", select white as the foreground color. Goto "IMAGE"> "SPECIAL"> "HOT WAX COATING", then "IMAGE">"NORMAL FILTERS"> "SHARPEN MORE", then "IMAGE">"NORMAL FILTERS">"SHARPEN". There you go, try other color combinations, I like blues. |
