1. Start with an image of 16.8 mill colours. Add some text. Do not use antialias! Save the selection, from the menu "SELECTIONS"->"SAVE". Close or clear the window. |

2. Create a new image, same size as the last one. Load the selection, "SELECTIONS"->"LOAD". From the drop-down menu "SELECTIONS", select "MODIFY"->"FEATHER". Use a value of about 10. Only use higher values if there is a lot of space between the letters. Now, select a nice BACKGROUND colour. I used red here. Press "DELETE" a couple of times, about four. |

3. Now, load the selection again. |

4. Make sure you are using the same background colour in the colour palette, as you've got in the background of the image. (I used a white background, so I let the background colour in the colour palette be white too.) From the drop-down menu "SELECTIONS", select "MODIFY"-> "FEATHER". Use a value of about 4. Press delete a couple of times, until it is smooth enough. You've now completed the normal outline tutorial. |
