| To begin, open a new image 10 x 10 x 256 grey scale and a white background. Zoom by about 10 or until a grid appears. For PSP 5.0 goto "view" > "grid". I like a red grid. You can change your grid color in 5.0 by going to preferences. Stripe the image with the "line" tool starting in the middle with a light grey and increasing to a dark grey or black at the top and bottom. The pattern is not critical. You may find one better than the one I used. |
| Open a new image 400 x 400 x 16 million colors with a white background. Click the "Flood Fill" button. On the control window, click the drop down and select "Pattern". Then click "options". Click the drop down and select the small image we just built. Left click the new image to paint it with the pattern. |
| Goto "Image" > "Deformations" > "Cylinder Horizonal". Set to 70% and click OK. |
|
Using the "Selection Tool" and starting at (0,0) select out the top half of the image. Save this as a mask by going to
"Masks" > "New" > "From Image". On the "Add New Mask From Image" window just click OK (This Window).
Then goto "Masks" > "Save". For 5.0 it will read "Save to Disk". |
|
To use the mask, open a new image 400 x 200 x 16 million colors, blue background.
PSP 4.0 - Load the mask "Masks" > "Load". Using the "Airbrush" set to size 30 and 50% opacity, spray back and forth on the image with the "Ocean" texture and the desired wave color (in this case white) PSP 5.0 - Add a new layer and load the mask on it "Masks" > "Load from Disk". Using the "Airbrush" set to size=30, opacity=30 , hardness=100, density=80, and step=20, spray back and forth on the image with the "Ocean" texture and the desired wave color. |
