| Draw or pick a picture with a solid background color. A multicolored background no matter how subtle will not work. Using the "Sampling Tool" (eye dropper) right click on the background to set the background color to that color. From the top line menu click "File" then "Save As". Select GIF from the drop down for "Save As Type". For Web purposes the GIF needs to be "Version 89a - Noninterlaced". In the same window click on "Options". |
| To set the transparent color to the currently selected background color click on the third one down as shown. Remember that ALL of that color will be transparent even if it's in the actual picture. For example: the black mustache on a face drawn on a black background will be transparent just like the black around the face. So the rule is: don't use the background color anywhere else in the picture. If you need that color in your picture then select a new background color, one you won't need. |
