    a. Add a Rectangle to the Selection          

    1) Click The Selection Tool Buttton

        On the Controls Window:
        Type = Rectangle
        Feather = 0
        Antialias = Not Checked

    2) Hold down the Shift Key

    3) Click and Drag From (14,74) to Size = (73x50)

        Status Bar (87,24)->(73,50)=(73x50)[1.460]

   b. Paint with Linear Gradient       

    1) Click the Flood Fill Tool

        On the Controls Window:
        Fill Style = Linear Gradient
        Match Mode = None
        Tolerance = 0
        Opacity = 100
        Sample Merged = Unchecked
        Blend Mode = Normal
        Gradient = Foreground-Background
        Repeats = 1
        Direction = 270 degrees

    2) Left Click inside the Selection
